The PROBLEM:

Launching a run for the Edinburgh Fringe, Leamington Spa Based Improv Troupe The Circus of Public Opinion needed original, quirky branding that reflected the show’s comedy nature, circus and clowning background and visual ties to courts and criminal proceedings.

The SOLUTION:

Drawing on motifs from the early 20th century, I combined strong visual identity with a circus with clean pared back text and visuals that allowed the brand to stay quirky but highly readable for an audience that may have no prior knowledge and had to understand very quickly what the show and expectations would be. This included photography with the cast, graphic design work, and the creation of a marketing deck.
